Cabernet Sauvignon
This Noble cultivar, cabernet sauvignon, grown at Asara Estate over many decades, has acapted extremely to our meso- and micro-climates. The wine is derived from different sites on the Estate.
Winemaker's tasting notes:
This is a classically structured Stellenbosh Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas reminiscent of sweet red peppers are balanced with the smell of juicy blackberries. These follow well onto the palate where the maturation in barrique for 24 months combines elegantly with the flavours of slewed fruit and dark chocolate. It provides you with a taste that is fresh and crisp, but also smooth and lingering.
Food suggestions:
Serve with vegetarian dishes like a hearty ratatouille or alonside a four Seasons Calzone, this wine is also an excellent companion to a venison pie or coq-au-vin. -
Merlot
This well matured Merlot displays the distinctive characters that are found in the Merlot vineyards of Asara. Ripe blackberry and cassis flavours from mature grapes were careffully matured in French oak for 18 months. On the palate there is structure, elegance and mouthfilling fruit with hints of white chocolate, cedar wood and mint.

Shiraz
A deep ruby red with black and purple colour hints towards an intense flavour profile in this Shiraz. Cherry and blackberry fruit aromas complement the spicy wood flavours extracted from gentle maturation in French and American oak. Notice how the hints of cigar box smokiness combine with earthy, organic nuances.

Cape fusion
The final blend comprises 58,4% Pinotage, 20% merlot, 15% Shiraz and 6,6% Cabernet Sauvignon. The deep ruby black colour hints at a celebration of the senses. There are rich plummy and black cherry aromas balanced with subtle cigar box and spicy mocha nuances. The taste is filled with berry fruit that finishes with an elegant juicy structure.

Rose
An intriguing blend of Shiraz and Gamay noir. It has an attractive, deep crimson colour that signifies the use of only red grapes. Aromas of strawberry and watermelon are complimented by the fresh berry fruit taste. The wine finishes with a soft and pleasant aftertaste.
